#1: Reading a new book gives you access to new perspectives
First of all, human beings have a tendency to forget and need to be reminded of the important business concepts that should always remain in the forefront of their thoughts. So, when they reread the same book or article, it’s not because they didn’t understand them the first time, but it’s because finding words for what they already know help them reassess their priorities in life.
Moreover, leaders give such a great importance to reading because it also gives them the opportunity to understand someone else’s perspective, no matter how much they disagree with it. They have more tools to think out-of-the-box because as they get exposed to new thoughts and ideas. Elon Musk taught himself to build rockets by reading. By having access to new experiences, the well-known leaders get to learn how to solve business problems with a new approach.

It feels like you are running on a treadmill – you sweat a lot, but you are going nowhere. What usually happens with enthusiastic people is that they have a lot of energy to give, but they deploy it in the wrong direction if they don’t invest enough in knowledge. See success is putting knowledge in motion. So read, learn, and then act.
