I always enjoy watching a good one man show or attending a comedy club. It just makes me forget all the tragedies in life for an evening. But what if you are somewhere where you can’t find the funny? Well, the good news is laughter therapy can work without involving humor in the first place. It is indeed possible to just simulate a good laugh and it can be just as efficient as the real thing.
Indeed, the simple act of laughing tricks the brain into naturally releasing happiness chemistry. And since thoughts and emotions have an electrochemical nature, both spontaneous and voluntary laughter have the power to change their polarity from negative to positive. So again, you don’t need a reason to laugh. Just do it as much as you can because it’s an easy way to feel happy. And nothing else really matters…
There is no better way to become the better version of yourself than including positive habits in your daily routines. They become part of who you are now. And since I want my life light and easy-going, I include laughter practices in my morning routine. So every morning while taking my shower, I practice the Aloha laughter which consists of the following:
Sometimes, I just decide to laugh for five minutes on my own to uplift my mood. And I must admit that mixing this part of craziness and foolishness with my life goals has made me feel so much happier. The only side effect to this strong medicine is that you can attract some strange looks giggling to yourself. When I practice the ‘motorcycle starting’ laughter in my room, am pretty much sure that my wife believes I’ve completely lost it. The kids love to join me, though. Whether you laugh on your own or with a group of people, what is important here is that you find what works for you and incorporate it in your day-to-day life. Laughter fosters fun and fuels energy. It works as long as you work it. Laughter and happiness go hand in hand. So, don’t forget to laugh because laughing makes you forget all your worries.
