Some people see the glass half-full, some people see the glass half-empty, and some others are just grateful they have a glass with something in it. This is what we call perception, and it can profoundly impact our experience of life.
Indeed, we act according to our beliefs, and we believe what we perceive to be right. That’s how our reality becomes shaped by our perception.
#1: What has been educated in can be educated out
Now let’s remember our beliefs don’t define us – we inherited them through our past experiences. And what has been educated in can be educated out. So, once you clearly define your targets in life, you can choose to alter these beliefs and improve your perception of all things. You can then set your course by the stars and become this unshakeable power.
#2: You are what you think
Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist. He was one of the richest Americans in history as he led the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. He said, “You are what you think. So just think big, believe big, act big, work big, give big, forgive big, laugh big, love big, and live big.”
And I can’t disagree less. Now we already saw in detail how to build a strong confidence base and cultivate faith in ourselves. And a good practical way to strengthen your confidence is to keep setting monthly goals and keep achieving them. And these objectives can be pretty much anything that helps you reach your long-term strategic targets.
— Steve Jobs
